Mayberry lives on

You gotta love small towns...I went this morning to have our water turned on at the new house. Technically there is already water, I just wanted to make sure that it was put in my name instead of the previous renters' names. Well no good deed....
I get there at 7:20 since I called yesterday and they told me that their office hours are 7-4. Of course, no one is there because one of them had the day off, one had a doctor's appointment and the other....well who the hell knows. So I get the joy of trying to set up my water service through the librarian. She explains to me that she can set up my account and have the service put in my name but she can't disconnect the service in the other people's names unless they come up there. I argued for a while but eventually gave up and wandered out after losing my temper when I couldn't make her understand why I wouldn't want to hook the gas up now so that the gas heat would work (OMG it was 104 degrees yesterday) so I guess we’ll just both pay for the same water service.
The good news is that Alabama Power is FAR more competent and they are reconnecting the power today without any damn issues.

In non-house related news Henry is not showing any improvement in his behavior (although he does seem to be feeling better since we started the thyroid meds). He and Bear snarled and growled at each other this morning (although thankfully Henry was caged and Bear was in the living room). Apparently they just can’t stand to look at each other so Henry stays in the muzzle. Argh.

Randomness:
I need a mani-pedi, not want, NEED.
I have got to start tanning or I am going to COOK when I go to the beach next month.
I am on the search for a new hobby—I’ve been watching too many episodes of Made on MTV.
I have a million things to do at work and exactly 0 that I want to do.
I get to see my favorite art director in the whole world today—Tim is coming by about 2 for a meeting about our media kit, which he is designing (yipppeeee)
I have to call and set up photo shoots with the next few cover guys sometime this week and I dread doing that.
I wish laundry would do itself.
I have to go birthday shopping for my nephew who will be 1 on Saturday and I have no idea what to get him.
I get my hair cut on Saturday but I really don’t think that it needs it yet—it has just gotten to a length that I can stand and I’m trying to let it grow out even more.
